New Styled Furniture Design Concept - Cabinet Series Design
Project Overview
“The World, the Cities” cabinet series is based on the characteristics of cubism painting art, extracting elements from various aspects of the city's development and innovating the design of the cabinet. Also, the design of this series tries to divide the completed surface of traditional furniture into small units with different features, interleaving and reorganizing the units according to a few pieces of design strategies.
Project Goals
1. To have a new-designed visual identity system that is in a modern, concise and fresh style
2. To help users have a deeper impression on the location of their supplies in life in order to save time on finding them when they need.
3. To make the furniture become a medium for extending more imagination of home environment, giving users more beautiful visual and spiritual enjoyment, to make the furniture not one of common supplies, but can also be an practical artwork sparkling in any generations.

Design Inspiration
This design of cabinet series is based on the theme of “The World, the Cities” because the inclusiveness of the city can correspond to the storage function of this cabinet series. In cities, everyone intersects in the cities and interacts with each other, which seems like the elements in the cubists’ art work, forming a unique visual texture and reraising people's renewed attention and thinking about life in the objective world.

Structure of Holistic Forms
Based on the characteristics of Cubism painting art, the form and color representation of these cabinets’ units are linearly distributed, and this expression shows the indistinct outline of some concrete things, making the series of cabinets no longer independent, which means that parts of this series of cabinets are able to consist of different scenes organically indoor, and different structure and textures of these cabinets compose various spatial relationships visually, bringing more imagination space for users.
